Candace Owens Defends Don Lemon

CNN CEO Chris Licht confirmed in an email to employees that Lemon received formal training for his remarks. However, Owens believes that the host did nothing wrong and used her platform to explain. “People are gonna force me to actually defend Don Lemon for saying something that simply made sense,” Owens remarked. “People are outraged.”

She continued:

“Don Lemon might lose his job. In fact, they’re going to now make him take diversity and inclusion courses. He’s facing all of this pressure because he’s clearly sexist, right...I’m sorry, what was wrong with what Don Lemon just said? Is it the part that it happens to be true? It’s not allowed at CNN? Why is everybody acting so offended by the fact that he basically said water is wet?”

Owens went on to comment that if Donald Trump made the same observation, no one would bat an eye:

Nikki Haley attacked Biden for his age. Don Lemon threw it back at her. CNN was wrong to chastize Lemon. They've gone full conservative.

Now all of a sudden, Don Lemon says it and we’re pretending that we need to be hysterical and crying about it. Give me a break. Nikki attacked didn't attack anyone she simply made comment on the fact that people in their mid 70's are at a higher risk for cognitive decline and if they want a job of immense responsibility they should be tested. Everyone is at risk of decline when they reach their 70s including Nikki Haley some day. Screening people below 75 would be low yield.

"Cognitive decline may begin after midlife, but most often occurs at higher ages (70 or higher).” (Aartsen, et al., 2002)

I for one love when the left eats it's own. We should just get out of the way and let it happen. Fuck lemon puff.
 
It's always interesting these scenarios where does one choose principals and beliefs in a choosing a position? Or simply go with what partisanship at the moment suggests is the right path?

There is that joy I suppose seeing someone on the opposite side of the political spectrum put their foot in their mouth and suffer the consequences for it. But big picture, is that the outcome we want?
 
We live in a time, here in America, at least, where indignation had become the prioritized function of being alive.

Everybody is offended by everything.

Has all of humanity become that fragile, or is it just us?
