Can the country ever recover from Trump's election lies?

Trump is a con man, and the Big Lie is his opus. It's master work for a true grifter, and he has gotten millions to buy in.

That is millions of people who will likely never trust an American election again. Especially with all of the sham propaganda coming out, and his minions repeating the lies on a daily basis.

It's amazing to think that one bombastic liar - whose previous job was reality TV - might end up bringing the entire republic down. But watching conservatives carelessly repeat the lies about fraud from Day 1 - the Kraken, the pillow guy, fake/partisan audits, et al. - is like watching a couple of kids play catch w/ their mom's priceless vase.

You don't know what you have, until it's gone.

states are hardening the ballot -while increasing access.
dont mail out millions of unsoliticed ballots and im fine

Trump also declared that there was "massive fraud" in 2016, when no one cared about mail-in.

What was the excuse then?

Oh, and he thought 2012 was a "sham," as well.

some states do mail ins OK - some like PA usurped the State legislature.
I dont care about past elections, i never propagated the election was stolen..
since i couldnt prove it and courts wouldn't hear it. (Texs vs. PA)

your thread title is about looking forward

Trump thought that because the Republican candidate was ahead in the popular vote on election night, he should have won the election.

“[Obama] lost the popular vote by a lot and won the election. We should have a revolution in this country!”

“The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy.”

“We can't let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty.”

In reality, of course, Obama won the popular vote as well as the electoral college – which is more than Trump did in 2016. Anyone who didn’t have this boneheaded twister figured out ten years ago deserves him.

I'm old enough to remember Democrats calling both Bush wins rigged first via the SCOTUS then regarding the voting machines, as well as, the Trump election which they blamed on Russian hackers. Hell you people are still claiming Stacey Abrams is the real governor of Georgis, but those aren't attacks on Democracy right? That's because what the left means by an attack on Democracy is challenging their narrative in any way, shape, or form.

Unlike the Dems Trump actually has a case IE the election was overtly unconstitutional as the Governors and state secretaries in key swing states unilaterally usurped the plenary power of the state legislatures to set voting laws and regulations in order to eliminate all voter chains of custody through unsolicited universal vote by mail, elimination of signature verification requirements, legalized ballot harvesting, and widespread use of unsecured drop boxes.

This isn't good whataboutism. Gore conceded, Kerry conceded. Trump never has, and has created an entire movement based on lies.

And again - Trump claimed "massive fraud" in '16, and called '12 a sham. This is what he does. There is no truth to it. He's a pathological liar.

You need to drink more. Much, much more. Put down the crack pipe though.

America will not recover until the Elites decide to run elections honestly.

They have zero intention of doing that.

The people have figured this out.

It's not whataboutism it's what we used to call having shared standards, I don't care about their concession speech both Gore and Clinton were claiming fraud well after they made them.
