Washington State Democrats voted against an amendment to HB 1296, which would require schools to immediately notify parents if their child is the victim of sexual misconduct.
The majority of the time, sexual predator are known to the parents, and often they are the parents. So notifying the parents immediately, before investigating, is telling the lead suspect that he needs to cover his tracks.
