In 1970 USC traveled to Alabama to play an all white squad coached by Bear Bryant. USC won and Bear realized he could not compete with an all white squad. Sam "Bam" Cunningham, a black man, dominated the game for USC. Someone once wrote only partially tongue in cheek that Cunningham did more to integrate the South in 60 minutes than anyone had in the past decade.
USC is a private school so the travel ban won't affect them but imagine if California had a travel ban to the South at that time and USC was a public institution.
Travel ban is dumb dumb dumb. So what if UCLA makes the Final Four next year and it's a played in a state with a travel ban. They don't go? Way to kill athletics in our state legislature.
