Poor anchovies, If you are of the belief that this will stop or even slow anyone from obtaining ammunition, you are dreaming. Any avid shooter has at least a five year supply of ammunition already on hand. I always laugh when the NEWZ reports that someone has a large cache of ammo and they show all the FBI guys standing around and pointing at a cardboard box with 250 rounds. I have customers that shoot 500 rounds per session.

The PITTMAN-ROBERTSON Act of 1937 was endorsed by outdoorsmen because it was used to protect and ensure hunting and fishing habitats.

The Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act of 1937, most often referred to as the Pittman–Robertson Act for its sponsors, Nevada Senator Key Pittman and Virginia Congressman Absalom Willis Robertson, is an act that imposes an 11% tax on firearms, ammunition, and archery equipment and distributes the proceeds to state governments for wildlife projects.

The act was signed by Franklin D. Roosevelt on September 2, 1937, and became effective on July 1 of the following year. It has been amended many times, with several of the major amendments taking place during the 1970s and the most recent in 2000. Prior to the creation of the Pittman–Robertson Act, many species of wildlife were driven to or near extinction by commercial/market hunting pressure and/or habitat degradation from humans. The act created an excise tax that provides funds to each state to manage such animals and their habitats. Notable species that have come back from the brink since the implementation of this act include white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and wood ducks.

As for an additional 10% going to arm school staff, I fully support this idea as it will surely help.

He liken it to a "SIN TAX". Legal gun owner are not the "SINNERS". Criminals don't legally buy their guns so they won't be paying the taxes.

There’s a reservation somewhere in South Dakota, I think. No alcohol sold on the reservation. Just steps from the border is a liquor store that does tons of business.

Just outside Chicago, gun stores do tons of business.

Both know who they are selling to and the consequences of those sales. But, it’s all about money and profit, isn’t it?

They aren't because the govt has the power of taxation. The problem is the same court that deemed poll taxes unconstitutional previously declared they were constitutional. It's all political games.
