This is a really tough one for me, as both deserved to be killed, obviously.
I think though with trayvon martin, the world was taught a bigger lesson, which is that you can't flim flam the zim zam, and that violent attacks on people breaking no laws will have consequences. It doesn't matter if the media wants to lie for you or be racist against white people, we will kill you if you attack us. and we'll do a happy little jig on your grave.
With michael brown, most reasonable people understand you dont try to punch cops and take their gun in order to kill them, so while michael brown equally deserved it, his death is a more obvious one and doesn't have the same cultural impact or significance.
I know with a poll like this and the images of both criminals lying dead on the ground brings warmth to our heart, but we have to think beyond immediate feelings.
