Police in California arrest 8 activists during protest against Arizona's immigration law
06-03-2010 05:45 PM MST
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Associated Press) --
Eight people in California who chained themselves together to protest Arizona's immigration law have been arrested outside Santa Ana's federal building.

Police took them into custody Thursday after they tied up traffic and refused to leave the street.

About 60 activists called on Santa Ana to declare itself a sanctuary city for immigrants and criticized the new Arizona immigration law.

It requires police to ask people about their immigration status if there is "reasonable suspicion" that they're in the country illegally.

A police spokesman says the eight protesters will be cited and released if they cooperate with officers at the jail. The spokesman said the group did not advise officials about the protest so they couldn't prepare for it.

Why is it so many 'peaceful' protesters feel they can violate other peoples rights? You want to protest... by all means... do so. But quit fucking blocking traffic. You don't have that right. I am glad they were arrested, but to be honest not too happy with the police releasing them 'if they cooperate at the jail'.... obviously these idiots need a good beat down.

We have been told by idiots on this board that pipes and knives are not weapons, so lets use some on these 'peaceful' protesters.

Imagine if these had been TEA party demonstrators... This is typical left leaning protest behavior...only thing missing is graffiti, turned over cars and the like.

Thr truth in this, is that it's not usually up to the Police to make this decision; because it's usually a result of the State/Count/City Attny refusing to press charges.

Why is it so many 'peaceful' protesters feel they can violate other peoples rights?
why is it so many libs feel they can violate peoples 2nd Amendment?
why is it so many cons feel they can violate peoples 4th Amendment?
why is it so many democrats feel they can violate peoples 5th Amendment?
why is it so many republicans feel they can violate peoples 8th Amendment?

we could go on and on, but you answer that question yourself by your continued rant, specifically....

LMAO... the last part was just a dig at the idiots on the board who stated pipes and knives weren't weapons.

Yeah... cons are always hoping for illegal search and seizures... ????

As for Reps and the 8th? WTF are you talking about?

Why is it that so many don't understand that their rights stop, at the edge of my rights??

Maybe you could enlighten all of us and explain why you think you have more rights then the next person.

as i've been repeatedly subject to nearly everyone on this board, including you, about there is no right to drive, and driving on public roads is a privilege you pay for with taxes, therefore if you have no right to drive on a public road, your rights can't be violated because traffic is blocked.

What the fuck does this have to do, with the price of tea in China?? :palm:

So far, governments (and liberals, but that goes without saying, beeeeaches) have claimed that driving is a privelege. I've never really bought it, as it doesn't make any sense. So far, all I've ever gotten is that neither the federal constitution, nor my state constitution specifically mention automobiles or the infernal combustion engine, and hence I have no right to it. The government is gracious enough to extend this special privilege to a commoner such as myself, and can take it away on a whim, and its just my tough luck not to have been born a king or duke (or the Earl of Stupidity, like Asshate).

The privilege argument is complete bullshit, but since the right to drive is not on my Top 20 list of things to agitate for, I don't spend much time on it. I spend more time complaining about how I'm not allowed to talk on my cellphone or get head, and whatnot...
