When some Denver thieves checked their loot after raiding a truck transporting medical research supplies, they may have lost their heads.

A box of human heads was stolen from a truck in Denver on Thursday. The heads were being transported for scientific research by a company called Science Care, which provides cadavers. The truck was reportedly broken into at around 11 a.m. in Denver's Central Park neighborhood.

The box was made of blue and white cardboard with the Science Care company name on the sides, and it measured 20-by-15-by-18 inches, the outlet reported.

The neighborhood where the theft occurred has a family atmosphere, and bystanders expressed shock at the crime.

A few years ago a medical rep at a training seminar that used cadaver heads had his ice chest stolen at seminar that was being conducted at a hotel. So he filled his hotel room that night with ice and put 4 heads in it. The cleaning staff found then and called the police.

A training seminar that I attended used several cadavers and fluoroscopy and they had them in a large conference room. I was taking a break out near the entry doors when a young woman wanted in the room because she had a wedding scheduled there for the next day. She was told no but she became very insistent . Finally I told her we were using radiation in the room and she couldn't come in. She accepted that reason.
