Bin Laden Drink Deal

I remember I was...13 when 9/11 happened. I was in math class (failing most likely).

I don't remember where I was going with that thought, but the short end is that I joined, in part because of that day. I ended up deploying and one way or another representing my generation because of that day. And now that Osama is dead... it honestly gives me a small sense of peace with the world. Not much, but some. And in the spirit of that, I am making an offer to all my friends, and my not-so-friends, here at JPP

1 drink of your choice, at the location of your choice and time of your choice (assuming I'm there of course). This applies to all active posters as of today, May 2nd 2011.

Sounds awesome. I was 14 when 9/11 happened, and I was on my way to English 10 with Mrs. Brown, in J Hall, at Shorecrest High School, when I found out.

Whenever I may be in Detroit (as if) or you in CO, let's go shoot things then get drunk. (I think that's the proper order...)

lock it up.

I was in history class, 2nd period. We were outside on the grass because it was a sunny day and all the retard children think it's more comfortable to get your legs itchy and dirty and have bugs bite you while trying to learn with the sun in your eyes. The assistent principle came out and said a plane hit the towers. Thought it was a small plane at first. Then we went inside and they announced on the intercom that a second tower had been hit. I was like "holllllllllllllly shit"

I remember though, that it was when the pentagon got hit when shit got real. Up until then, it was just some dickheads doing timothy mcveigh to the max. After pentagon got hit I realized that what was going on was an act of war.

I was at work, listening to talk radio. The first reports came in that a plane hit one of the twin towers, they reported that it was a "small plane". Then just a short while later, while they were doing a live report the second plane hit and I knew it was an attack. I turned around and said to everybody there, "We're under attack, a second plane just hit the other tower!" I called my wife and told her to turn on the TV at home.

We got a small TV and crowded around it. I tried to call my friends that worked in the towers (yeah, I talked with them daily, switch techs), but they weren't in. We watched as the towers fell...

Then I got an e-mail from one of the ladies that worked in the tower. She told me that every one of our employees got out and all were hale and safe. I was nearly in tears... I can't believe that with all that happened she thought to contact any of us, but the relief was palpable.

They sent us home, after ordering that zero changes to the network would happen.... Gods... I remember watching the tiny bodies fall from the towers.... one of the people asking, "Is that paper?"... I informed them what it was. The silence... I remember the silence...

OMG, no wonder you morons are so clueless, you are all wet-behind-the-ears little punks! Here I have been thinking you were much older. This certainly explains your immaturity and lack of good common sense. When I was your age, the farthest thing from my mind was talking politics with grown ups... you must be some really geeky or ugly ass fellas, to be hanging out here and not chasing women. Sad.

I've tried being civil with you, Dixie, but seriously...fuck you. Your response to bin Laden's death is beyond bizarre. The only conclusion I can reach is you're angry that it didn't happen under Dubya's watch.

Dix, much as I would like to deny my offer to you, especially with your stupidity running rampant as though it were a pathogenic virus, I feel it would diminish the spirit in which it was offered.

That said, fuck you and the horse you rode in on.

I will never forget that morning-getting out of the shower I had heard the phone ringing. I get to the phone and I have 5 messages-3 from friends 2 from my husband; they were saying that we were at war and had been attacked. I was scared because we didn't have TV and lived in the Sierra's far from any town. I dressed the kids and my neighbor graciously fed them while I sat transfixed to their TV. - They were still showing the jumpers at that time-awful and chilling; truly the single most tragic event ever to be televised live.

That sounds like a proper celebration. I would love to join you.

I was working on a Charter job in B'ham. I was driving north on I-65 to go pickup a wayward lineman. I didn't have the radio on but suddenly noticed there was very little traffic on the interstate. I turned on the radio, heard the ongoing news reports and drove with tears in my eyes.

I remember being scared for my sons and for those I knew in NY & DC.

i was asleep when the first tower was hit (los angeles)

people at work were in a state of shock - so was i

i doubt that i will ever be in detroit again, i spent a lifetime one year in a little village called port austin on the tip of the thumb

if you ever visit santa barbara, ca, i will take you up on your offer

I'll piggyback the king and burn a spliff with any board member passing through Nawlins in a Toast to the death of the longest reigning hide n seek champion ever.
