The Global Minimum Tax that Biden is pushing--illegally I might add--is another disaster in foreign policy coming from the master of foreign policy disaster.

This allows other countries in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to set tax code for US corporations within the US in many cases. So, if a US corporation is determined by some other country (including China) to not be paying a "fair share" of taxes within the US, that country can as part of this plan raise taxes on that corporation to fix that problem.

Of course, Biden's ploy ignores that this really requires congressional approval, but like Obama with the Iran deal, he's doing it as a dictator would and ignoring US law on treaties.

Given that Joke has a proven track record of over 50 years of being wrong on foreign policy decisions, it's going to be hard to defend the stupidity of this one by him. He, in effect, is handing other nations the ability to set US tax code for corporations. What could possibly be worse for the US than say, China setting US corporate tax rates...?

Biden is trying to set a new standard for how we are going to deal with corporations that are moving their operations to foreign countries to get out of paying their fair share of taxes, and while at the same time, taking advantage of the slave and child labor and human traffickers of other countries that foster these atrocities, and while committing irresponsible reckless operations that are damaging the worlds environment.

US corporations that play by all the Congressionally approved US rules, labor laws, and environmental requirements, that do pay their fair share of taxes, are the ones that have asked this president to do something about these rebellious Anti-American Traitors, Cheaters, and Cheapskates! 1. China is not an OECD member.
2. The members set a minimum tax that each other member is supposed to collect.

No one country can set the tax policy for any other one country. China can't argue that any country isn't taxing enough since they aren't a member.

Our corporations evade our taxes by pretending to be based in another country, where they are not. They pay a much smaller tax there and save billions. So the world leaders want the tax islands to be eliminated. A min tax rate might encourage companies to be honest and pay what they owe.

It's not that simple. The rate can vary by country depending on a number of factors. So, yes, the OCED can set US corporate tax rates, and even disadvantage the US economically based on what rate they decide.

The argument here is that other nations shouldn't be setting US tax policy at all. Or, does that idea appeal to you?
