Banning TicKTock ? Really?

What Chinese propaganda would they imbed? "Buy more hammers from Harbor Freight"? "Eat more rice"? "Dress like Hillary Clinton"?

An excellent example. Note that it was made for Chinese young people who were bucking the system. Unlike the movie "The Manchurian Candidate", brainwashing doesn't work outside of a controlled environment since human beings are human beings, not computers to be reprogrammed. It's not something magical, just part of evolutionary adaptation still not understood.

Naval Ravikant mentioned during his interview with Joe Rogan that building a robot or computer that thinks like a human being isn't even on the far horizon....if ever. Too complex, too many variables. While human behavior is predictable within a known range, it's not programmable. Influenced? Yes. The thing about influencing young idealists with Marxism is that they tend to grow into conservative, less idealistic adults with spouses, homes, jobs and kids. Not RWNJs like on tis forum, but also not 40 year old Marxists.

Artificial Intelligence is more efficient and accurate with more data. China is using data collected from Americans to better Plan their Psy-Ops War on us.

"The term artificial intelligence (AI) describes technologies that can make informed, non-random decisions algorithmically.
Open source intelligence (OSINT) is based exclusively on publicly available information such as the contents of the open web.
AI has many applications in OSINT, both for military and domestic purposes. In particular, it enables human analysts to collect, analyze, and interrogate huge data sets that would otherwise be insurmountable.
While AI is vital to the future of OSINT — and intelligence gathering in general — it can’t replace an analyst’s ability to determine the “so what” of intelligence outputs."

Yes, AI is coming along nicely, but "Westworld" is fiction. So is "The Terminator", "Colossus: the Forbin Project" and HAL 9000.

Collecting intelligence is one thing, but putting it to use is another. PsyOps has limited effect and the less controlled the environment, the less effective it is.

:) haha

"The Leader (Chinese: 领风者; pinyin: Lǐng fēng zhě) is a 2019 Chinese animated web series[a] based on the life of German intellectual Karl Marx. Commissioned by the Communist Party of China's Marxism office, a production team was formed in 2016 which included propaganda departments, scholars of Marxism, and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The series was announced in 2018 by the streaming service Bilibili as part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Marx's birth. The seven-episode series was created to attract young people to Marxism, and it was streamed weekly on Bilibili between January 28, and March 4, 2019. A webcomic version was produced by Zhong Jun, the series' chief scriptwriter."

We're already there, we just don't know it.

I notice 'Tencent' as a partner in a number of Hollywood Movies, there's always something in there about 'China', and China being portrayed in a 'Good Way' (promoting).

"Tencent Holdings Ltd. is a global multinational conglomerate holding company founded in 1998, whose subsidiaries specialise in various Internet-related services and products, entertainment, artificial intelligence and technology globally. Its twin-skyscrapers headquarters Tencent Seafront Towers are based in Nanshan District, Shenzhen.Wikipedia"

Ummm....actually we do. Advertisers have been using such methods for over a century. It really came into it's own with the advent of both Television and Cold War psych research....most often noted by the conspiracy theorists with an actual project: Project MKUltra. What did they learn? Just what I posted: human beings can be "brainwashed" but that brainwashing doesn't stick outside of a controlled environment.

While the tech has changed, human beings have not. What didn't work in the 1960s still won't work in the 2020s as far as "brainwashing" is concerned. If it did, then why the fuck did the CIA have to waterboard Khalid Sheikh Mohammed 183 times and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri about the same along with other torture techniques? Why not just use the old Chinese app approach? Why not brainwash them into spilling all of the information and reprogramming them to go back home and blow themselves up along with other terrorists?

:) It's more subtle than that.
It's probably more akin to subliminal messaging.

--->China knows it is in a Economic and Cultural War with the US. The Government of China has already tasked itself to become a Dominant Power and Replace the West.
--->The US ... meanwhile, ... is scratching it's ass and sucking it's thumb. Going through a charade of 'Trade Deals' (as China laughs) and imposing sanc ... sanc ... sanctions!!!

Smell the coffee ... uh Tea.

This isn't a Charity Event.

"A long-standing trope in the U.S. debate on that subject is that China itself doesn’t know what it seeks to achieve, that its leaders haven’t yet worked out how far Beijing’s influence should reach. Yet there is a growing body of evidence, assembled and interpreted by talented China experts, that the Chinese government is indeed aiming for global power and perhaps global primacy over the next generation — that it seeks to upend the American-led international system and create at least a competing, quasi-world order of its own."

Hmmmm ...

"It doesn’t take unparalleled powers of deduction to reach this conclusion. Top Chinese officials and members of the country’s foreign policy community are becoming increasingly explicit in saying so themselves.
President Xi Jinping more than hinted at this goal in his landmark address to the 19th Party Congress in October 2017. That speech represents one of the most authoritative statements of the party’s policy and aims; it reflects Xi’s understanding of what China has accomplished under communist rule and how it must advance in the future.
Xi declared that China “has stood up, grown rich, and is becoming strong,” and that it was now “blazing a new trail for other developing countries” and offering “Chinese wisdom and a Chinese approach to solving the problems facing mankind.” By 2049, Xi promised, China would “become a global leader in terms of composite national strength and international influence” and would build a “stable international order” in which China’s “national rejuvenation” could be fully achieved."

Golly Gee ...

So? Subliminal messaging is good to make a person more likely to buy a soda pop at a movie theater or some popcorn, but it's not guaranteed. In a movie theater of 300 people maybe you could increase sales a bit by inserting a frame of a cold coke or a box of popcorn, but the person would have to already be thirsty or hungry plus have the $20 it costs. It will never make a person who just bought a soda or popcorn turn around and buy another one.

Since we're on the topic, what subliminal messages would be sent? "Buy more hammers"? "Love Big Brother"? It won't work anymore than the popcorn idea.

It wasn't meant literally. It's meant to mean Americans are unaware of what is happening.

Your point? China wants to grow? China doesn't want others to fuck with them? China is ambitious and stirring up trouble in the South China Sea? Great. I agree. What subliminal messaging on TikTok would stop Americans from seeing China's mistreatment of their own people? Violating international law?

Something else you are forgetting: If they can do it, then we can do it too. Maybe that's why Trump has so many fans; subliminal messaging in MAGA hats. LOL
