Bank failures reach 95, more to come in 2009

The latest United States bank failure this year was the Georgian Bank in Atlanta Georgia, the 95th institution to collapse under the weight of commercial real estate and other loans that have gone bad.

According to a September 25, 2009 article from AP, published in AOL Money and Finance, these failures could imperil the Federal Insurance Deposit Corp's insurance fund for deposits, already at the lowest point in nearly 20 years.
