Yup. There have been bad cops as long as there have been cops. Just like there are bad doctors, bad college professors, bad lawyers, bad plumbers and car mechanics...you get the idea.

But the really big no-no for the bad cops is being bad to 'people of color' [an oddly humorous euphemism for 'not white'] because that will get you ink. People of non-color, not so much. The same thing with committing a crime with a gun. You might make headlines with that. But stopping a crime with a gun---that's back page stuff, all because it doesn't fit the media narrative.
