Attorney General: Clerk Kim Davis Violated Open Records Act

I wonder if this newly-minted conservative dingbat will get punished for violating the law.

"A county clerk who went to jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples violated the state's Open Records Act, the Kentucky attorney general's office said Tuesday. Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis violated the act by refusing to produce documents related to the gay marriage battle, the attorney general's office said in an opinion. The nonprofit Campaign for Accountability requested records between Davis and her attorneys, the religious advocacy group Liberty Counsel, on March 1, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported ( http://bit.ly/29o09s5 ).

Liberty Counsel refused, saying the documents are preliminary and private. Liberty Counsel represented Davis after she was sued for refusing to issue marriage licenses.

The attorney general's office asked to privately review the documents so it could decide whether the exemptions cited are relevant but said Liberty Counsel refused to produce most of the documents even for a private review.

"An agency cannot benefit from intentionally frustrating the attorney general's review of an open records request. Such result would subvert the General Assembly's intent behind providing review by the attorney general," Assistant Attorney General Matt Jones wrote in the office's opinion."

You're not familiar with the 1st Amendment?

Does she not have any rights under that LAW?

Did the law about attorney/client privilege get rescinded.....

and why would she get punished when its the Liberty Counsel refusing this request for documents between her and her attorneys.....
 
@NOVA First of let me thank you for your service, I am a veteran bubblehead myself. The article didn't quite make it clear what was being asked for. I wish there had been a recall election or impeachment for an elected official not fulfilling the requirements of their job, but if they are asking for privileged communication that's a no go and they shouldn't even been trying. Poor reporting on ABC's part.
