At The Current Rate, It Would Take Russia Centuries And Tens Of Millions Of Casualties To Capture Ukraine

Russian forces managed to capture around 68 square miles of Ukraine in April. But it cost them 4,800 vehicles and more than 36,600 dead and wounded troops, according to one statistician who collects data mostly from official Ukrainian sources including the general staff in Kyiv.

Ukraine sprawls across 233,000 square miles, 19% of which is under Russian occupation. At the current rates of advance and loss, the Russians would capture the rest of Ukraine in the year 2256 at the cost of 101 million casualties. The current population of Russia is 144 million.

With the exception of protecting the ethnic Russians taking land is not the goal....ending the Imperial Empires aggression against Russia and deNazifying Ukraine is.....as the Russians told you at the jump.

AND the claim of centuries is ridiculous/insane/a lie.

Millions perhaps but so far the Russians have taken about 125,000 dead.....NATO about 1.4 million.

Wrong.

When Putin invaded Ukraine, he defined victory as de-nazifying Ukraine and de-militarizing Ukraine. The goal was obviously to capture Kyiv and install a puppet government. Russia tried to capture Kyiv at the outset of the war

You can't just hold Crimea and a strip of land bordering the Sea of Azov and claim you achieved those goals. You would have to admit that you didn't achieve any of the conditions for victory Putin stated in February 2022.

The Russians set out to demilitarize Ukraine, what happened is that they are demilitarizing NATO, and proving NATO to be impotent.

Demilitarizing and Denazifying Ukraine should not require taking land, as Istanbul proved....the purpose of Feb 2022 was to get the imperial Empires attention, to force a negotiated deal....it was not to take and hold land.

Neither Minsk1 or Minsk2 or Istanbul had the Russians taking the Donbass.

We however fucked that up by insisting upon having war.

Nobody on this board has amnesia. We all remember Putin's armored columns blitzing Kyiv. When Putin said the definition of victory was De-nazifying Ukraine and de-militarizing Ukraine he obviously and unambiguously meant setting up a puppet government in Kyiv, and getting the Ukrainian military to lay down arms and disband.

But Ukraine still has the same government and the same military they had when Putin invaded more than three years ago. So by Putin's own definition, none of his conditions for victory are even close to being met.

Except it doesn't work like that. There is a tipping point that is not linear.

A perfect example of using statistics to tell lies.
