Army Special Forces hit hard with six deaths in three days

The soldiers died in three separate incidents between Wednesday and Friday of last week, hitting hard the tightly-knit Special Forces community.

Two were killed in an Afghanistan firefight, three while entering a Jordanian military base and another off the Florida coast in a dive training accident, according to Defense Department releases

Last week's incidents bring the total deaths to eight in just over a month, underscoring how many of these special operations troops remain in harm's way as the military continues to rely heavily on its special operators for missions all around the world

Clinton is already talking about more special forces -and Obama has been using them instead of "ground troops".

Jordan is basically the most stable and secure country in that area. Strange that it got hit so effectively.

The three were killed in as-yet unclear circumstances, after the vehicle came under fire as they entered the King Faisal air base in al-Jafr, about 150 miles southeast of Amman in the south of the kingdom, a close U.S. ally.

“The three service members were in Jordan on a training mission, and the initial report is that they came under fire as they were entering the facility in vehicles,” said Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook. “We are working closely with the government of Jordan to determine exactly what happened.”
