It's not funny.
The fact that our first responders have become the scapegoats of greedy municipal government officials and right wing politicians since 9/11 is indicative of how our country has become insane, but not at the hands of Obama and the liberals as we're told. It's because of extremist right wing politicians elected to those municipal and state offices who are ignorant of economics but wave a "Don't Tread on Me!" flag. Teachers, too. Did you know our teachers are among the least paid in the world? These same people who've dedicated their lifes to educating our children are now hated...because the child's parents themselves have failed them and use teachers as babysitters instead of educators!
They enticed employers with ridiculous incentives, promising them and their employees top notch public safety employees providing top notch service. Then they invested the public employee's retirements accounts into ponzi schemes that ended up bankrupting the cities.
I read today that the city of Scranton, PA, has illegally reduced the salary of it's policemen and firemen to minimum wage.
How sad...it reminds me of Dicksee's diatribe yesterday against minimum wage workers, berating them and calling them scum of the earth or like terms.
I beg to differ. The "scum of the earth" are those criticizing those we trust our safety and children with.
