Anyone else get a "theocracy" vibe from Sanders' response?

For starters, I thought the response was kind of embarrassing. We have some real crisis situations going on right now - domestically, and around the world. Is the biggest threat to the republic really "woke" stuff?

Overall, she spoke a lot about "freedom," and removing government intrusion from people's lives. But she mixed that in w/ a sort of 1950's mentality on gay rights and the LGBTQ community in general. There were a few dog whistles there. If I was gay and listening to that speech, I would have felt like it was about freedom - but only if you're straight, and what a southern Christian's view of "normal" is. This was put as starkly as possible with her "normal or crazy" challenge to Americans.

The LGBTQ community has made great strides over the past few decades. We don't need to go back. Between Sanders' response, "Don't Say Gay" and the rest of it, the conservative position is coming into greater focus. It's up to Americans to decide if that's what they want, and if they want us to revert to a time when homosexuals kept quiet and had to play pretend all the time.

She is inconsequential.

That was a speech from the Twilight Zone. She talked so often about freedom...and yet espoused loss of freedom in so many ways. Not sure why the Republicans chose her to do the rebuttal, but if the Dems were allowed to choose for the Republicans, they might easily have chosen her. Sanders is one of the most unlikeable, dour members of a party filled with unlikeable, dour members.

Alt-lefties hate free thinkers. They hate Christians even more.

No but I get an asshole vibe from you. Do you actually know what a theocracy is?

I didn't watch her response. Do you think I should? The reports I heard were that it was something like "MAGA word salad".
