Any healthcare ideas?

This bill was introduced in the last Congress, not the current Congress. Where's the other one that you posted?

The republicans haven't offered anything and, although they for a time claimed that they would propose their own bill, they do not appear to be doing so now:

why is it we need to run and make new legislation for every problem real or imagined?

1) No, in June they said they would be putting out a bill. Now they're crawfishing.

2) Because that's how it works. If you want to change the status quo you have to change the law. In order to change the law you have to pass legislation. Do I really need to go through this with you?

Common chronic conditions (including coronary artery disease, diabetes, congestive heart failure, asthma, and depression) are responsible for 75 percent of our health care spending.

from Yurt's link above....it certainly seems to me we could so something based on this fact alone.....

"Minute" clinics in major drugstore chains can help simplify health care, says Harvard business professor Clayton Christensen, by "offloading some of the work to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and even patients." The AMA isn't keen on the idea: It wants doctors to at least supervise these clinics. Still, they're safe for minor things like sore throats, pulled muscles, pinkeye, wart removal, and vaccines.

so does this.....do we really need someone who went to college for eight years to tell us to take an aspirin?......

WTF? Huh?

Someone with a bad pre existing condition.
Or to get rid of someone with a costly persistant condition.

Would you buy a car with a blown engine and tranny?

On a different but similar note, are home insurers rushing to provide hurricane insurance in FL right now?
