The US military shot down another high-altitude object near Lake Huron on Sunday afternoon, according to a US official and a congressional source briefed on the matter.

A second US official said the takedown of the unidentified object was “at the direction” of President Joe Biden.

The operation marks the third day in a row that an unidentified object was shot down over North American airspace. An unidentified object was shot down over northern Canada on Saturday. On Friday, an unidentified object was shot down in Alaska airspace by a US F-22......

So we can't shoot a spy balloon over Alaska or Montana . But we can shoot an unidentified object over The Upper Peninsula of Michigan.. Does Biden hate Michiganders. Doesn't he care if something could fall on their heads?

We do? We have spent more than the next 10 nations combined for decades. Did we need that much to buy 4 missiles? Plam plam Who wants to defund? We could get by on a fraction of what we spend.
 
50mm. machine guns would have had the same effect, just a slower (balloon) decent, making a less destructive landing

China could easily release 10,000 cheap balloons all at the same time, in a swarm attack.

10k x 400k would only be $4 Billion worth of sidewinders to shoot them down.

I read that the F22 could only reach 58k ft. and their 20mm guns only had a max eff. range of 600m.

China learned a lot that I thought was secret, and is now public information.

I never checked what altitude, or which of, our fighters could fly. The effective range of the 20mm cartridge is 2000 yd.

Yep. I never knew where our military installations were.
 
I love how all the trumppers have become experts on the safety of shooting down various size balloons over different type of population areas, and how, no matter what, the result comes out...

If Biden did not shoot them down, the rightys would scream about how he did not protect America. That is exactly what they did when he waited until the huge one got over the water to do it. Now he shoots them down quickly and that was bad. Biden cannot win. To Trumpys, whatever he does is wrong. In fact, the problem is actually theirs.

If he had shot the first one down right away they would be screaming that he was a cowboy trying to pretend tough by shooting at balloons, and endangering people in populated areas.
