Automated machine gun turrets to take out the ones the mines miss??

(AP) - The Republican nominee for a northern New Mexico congressional seat suggested during a radio interview that the United States could place land mines along the Mexican border to secure the international boundary.

Asked Monday to clarify, Tom Mullins emphasized that he does not advocate doing so.

"I am not suggesting we do that," he told The Associated Press.

I wouldn't be surprised if he wants those land mines for us. To keep us in.

Use those rubber ball mines instead. But tell the Texans they're real land mines so they won't get any drunken ideas (I know from experience, those fuckers hurt!).

If you want to stop illegal immigrants, you'd build a wall.

I'm sure you'd lose all political support to build anything lethal the moment someone died. Especially if it were an American who just accidentally stumbled onto one.

He's not "suggesting" it, but he's floating this trial balloon anyway. Why, to snag votes from the hard-line fanatics? What a maroon.

Could you imagine a kid running away, without understanding, too young to realize....

Wickedly stupid.

Hence the rubber ball mines! No one dies, and they're cheaper!

NOTE: I'm not seriously advocating this, I just think it's a funny idea.
Those fricking hurt. Line the entire border with those microwave gun things*...

*disclaimer, I am just not that Machiavellian, I do not actually advocate this.

If there is a list of stupid things said by politicians, and I'm sure it's a long list, this idiot's comment definitely deserves to be prominently featured.

If you want to stop illegal immigration (in large numbers), you should do away with any, and all welfare.
