Considering that the statue protesters won the war, why should they keep on talking about it?
Most cities that had Confederate statues in prominent places like city parks and in front of govt buildings have removed them.
Here where I live, they took down the old "Johnny Reb" statue that had been put up by the Daughters of the Confederacy and stood at the entrance to the city's centerpiece downtown park for over 100 years. They simply moved it a mile or so away to an old cemetary that has a Civil War memorial section and put it back up there. Anyone who wants to can go visit it and pay homage or whatever. Those who don't wish to see it can stay away.
Everyone's happy.
Those statues are as inappropriate on govt buildings and in city parks as religious statues and icons or the Ten Commandments on the walls of courthouses.
I guess you didn't even realize your side lost.
There was a war going on? Civil war or a " if I scream loud enough and trash some neighborhoods, I will get my way" war? Reminds me of what brats do. They stomp and scream and throw fits until they get their way.
Who'da thunk it?

It's a good job you have a president in the Whitehouse setting such a good example, to the citizenry of your great country, about how to conduct oneself magnanimously whilst also displaying an admirable degree of humility.
Try staying on topic.

I was thinking that this morning...what happened to the statuephobes?
And just like that..statues disappeared

Public protest of grievances is as old as America itself and a part of our history.
People like you who bitch and complain about it are unAmerican.
Like the ones who deny the 1st?
no it's not.. any speech that encourages an imminent threat of violence is not protected speechNazi speech is in a class by itself.
Speech that encourages violence is not protected by the 1st, no matter how badly you wish it was, little Hitler.

of course..profiles in chickenhearted behavior..The way it's working is local politicians don't want to deal with Antifa thugs in their town, so they go ahead and cave into the demand to remove the statues.
That isn't what Jefferson had in mind in terms of democracy.
