It took 40 years to build our car supply chain network. It is not going to be replaced in a month based on trump's whim. It just is not possible.

So what car makers are hoping is that trump realizes he is destroying the American car industry, and pulls back in time to save it from complete destruction. Of course there will be a lot of damage, but not complete destruction.
