U.S. Jewish Leader Joins Mass Protest Against Netanyahu’s Judicial Overhaul
On Sunday night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to address the biggest gathering of North American Jewish leaders to be held in Israel in recent years. Thousands of members of the protest movement are planning to disrupt the kickoff event for the Jewish Federations of North America's General Assembly if Netanyahu follows through with his plans to show up. More than 3,000 North American Jews, representing 74 federations, have registered to attend the General Assembly, an annual event that rarely takes place in Israel. It is being held in Tel Aviv this year to mark Israel’s 75th anniversary.
