I have to give Trump credit where it is due for keeping his eye firm on putting America first. For years they have pointed out at the reforms Argentina was undertaking, that mirror what the Trump admin is doing now, as the model for success and as Argentina now faces collapse Trump realizes giving them welfare is what best puts America First, as the narrative that Argentina is the success model must survive even if propped up with US tax dollars.

A good bit of the so-called free world is getting more conservative and authoritarian in recent years. I wonder if this isn't because, at least in part, due to both the fast changes in technology added to the rise in religious fundamentalism around the world? People do tend to cling to father figures and the old ways in scary times.

Mom started work in a dress factory after being taken out of school after first grade. Pop managed to get through 5th grade before he had to leave.

I suppose their lack of extensive education caused them to be very conservative. They voted Republican exclusively during the years from the time of Dwight Eisenhower. I suspect that most people who lack extensive education vote that way.
