I feel like if she were a republican she'd immediately become a 24' frontrunner for any number of political offices for "telling it like it is".

It's shocking that this nut has these views but I am more troubled by her being forced to resign. Did her views in any way negatively impact the people she made these comments about? I am more interested in her behavior than her views and opinions
 
Government officials must have the trust and confidence of those that they serve.

When they display virulent racism, there can be no trust and confidence that they will serve with fairness to all that they serve.

She resigned because she knew she would be removed from office. Without trust and confidence, she can no longer serve those who pay her salary.
