The passion index is idiocy that is only published because Rasmussen found a way to fudge the figures to make Obama look bad. Rasmussen is not a pollster, he's an advocate, and nothing that comes from him come or should be trusted.

Ice Dancer, 45% approval in the middle of the worst economy since the great depression is not bad at all. Reagan, the worst president in American history, didn't even manage that.

Did they do these approval polls in the 1930s? I can't imagine that Roosevelt wouldn't have done very well either, many on the right seem to be in complete denial of the seriousness of the world's economic situation.

Which is so evident by the Dems who are campaigning on the fabulousity of healthcare reform, the hugely successful stimulus package, and the creation of large numbers of jobs!

The people in denial are the people who are supportive of the government's current economic policies.

They didn't start these polls until FDR's third term, apparently. But a better comparison is with Carter, who at this period in his presidency was in the mid 40's just like The Obama.
