For all the idiots that think a 1 loss team (ALABAMA) should be ranked ahead of 0 loss teams like Boise State, Utah, and TCU....

Think

UTAH vs ALABAMA

or

BOISE STATE vs OKLAHOMA
 
Or you can look at Boise St v Georgia.

History is an interesting topic, but has no relevance in the current season.

Boise has played VATech (who also lost to James Madison), Wyoming, Oregon St, New Mexicon St, Toledo, San Jose State, and La Tech. Not exactly powerhouses.

Alabama beat VaTech in the first game of last season, and by a greater margin than Boise's victory over the same team.

Alabama was #1 last year.



But last year doesn't count. The teams are different teams now. By your logic, since Oregon lost 2 games last year, they shouldn't be ranked in the top 10. The point is that Oregon is undefeated this year. The point is also that Boise State has a cupcake schedule. The few tough teams they schedule are at the first game of the season. No problems with injuries, fatigue, or looking ahead.

Schedule strength is part of the criteria for judging the teams. Boise's schedule strength holds them back.
