Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has spoken at length about her experience during the Capitol Hill riot on Jan. 6. From her live Instagram videos, it has seemed like she was on the front line, facing down Trump supporting rioters in the halls outside her office. But it turns out, Ocasio-Cortez wasn't in the Capitol at the time of the assault on Congress, she was in her office another building entirely.

Ocasio-Cortez's congressional office is in the Cannon House Office Building, according to her website, her Washington, DC address is 229 Cannon HOB. The Cannon HOB is accessible to the Capitol via tunnel. On Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez spoke to millions of fans on Instragram relaying her past experience of sexual assault, which she said left her traumatized. This experience, she said, was compounded by her what happened to her during the Capitol Hill riot.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) said that her office is in the same hallway as Ocasio-Cortez, two doors down, and that there were no rioters in that area at any time. She called out the New York representative for her "egregious" claims.

The Post Millennial is questionable publication, so maybe what they publish needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Post Millennial is a Canadian propaganda site

No Congressperson was in the actual Capitol building, there aren't individual Legislative offices in the actual Capitol, they were evacuated to their offices in the Capitol complex, yet they could hear the commotion and were unaware of what was occurring, are you saying all the narratives and pictures of the day with Legislatures hiding are all bogus?

Genetic fallacy, Anchovies.

That doesn't appear to tally with the claim of a "near-death experience", Anchovies.

"As rioters threatened to breach the Capitol on Jan. 6, a staffer rushed into Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s office and told her to hide. Soon after she ran into a bathroom, she heard a thunderous banging noise outside. “Where is she? Where is she?” someone yelled, Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said in an Instagram Live chat on Monday night. “And this was the moment where I thought everything was over.” The person thumping on the doors turned out to be a police officer trying to move her to a secure location, Ocasio-Cortez said."

At 1 pm on January 6, Ocasio-Cortez remembers trying to decide what she wanted to eat for lunch. All of a sudden, she started hearing a series of loud bangs on the doors leading into her office. She runs over to an aide she refers to as “G” — her legislative director, Geraldo Bonilla-Chavez — who tells her to “run and hide.”

She takes shelter behind her bathroom door — just before the pro-Trump attackers break into her office and make it clear they were coming for her. “I just hear these yells of ‘WHERE IS SHE? WHERE IS SHE?’” Ocasio-Cortez recalls.

What a drama queen

"Ocasio-Cortez found herself hiding in her office’s bathroom, she said, staying quiet and reflecting on the possibility of being killed.

“I really just felt like, if this is the plan for me, then people will be able to take it from here,” she said, wiping away tears in the Instagram video. “I had fulfilled my purpose.”

The Capitol Police officer did not announce himself as he banged on doors and yelled out for her, she said. And when she emerged from her hiding spot, she said the officer greeted her and one of her staffers with “a tremendous amount of anger and hostility.”

“We couldn’t even tell or read if this was a good situation or bad situation,” she said, adding that “it didn’t feel okay.”

The officer instructed her and her staffer to go to a different building, which Ocasio-Cortez would not identify in the live stream. But once they arrived at the building that they realized the officer never told them where to go. As they ran through hallways and knocked on office doors, Ocasio-Cortez said she could hear yells outside the building growing louder as rioters threatened to break inside.

“I hear the hinges cracking,” she said.

She soon saw Rep. Katie Porter, D-Calif., walking into her office and asked if they could join her. Ocasio-Cortez started roaming the office and opening doors as staffers barricaded the front door with furniture.

“I was like, ‘Can I help you? What are you looking for?’ and she said, ‘I’m looking for where I’m going to hide,’” Porter told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell on Monday night. “I said, ‘Well don’t worry, I’m a mom, I’m calm’ . . . and she said, ‘I just hope I get to be a mom.’”

The New York lawmaker shut off the lights, closed the blinds and rummaged under staffers’ desks, trying to find a gym bag that may have sneakers or a change of clothes. She told Porter that her dress and heals were not conducive for running, blending in with a crowd or even jumping out a window to escape.

“I’m like at a 10 because I’ve probably two times today that I already thought I was going to die,” Ocasio-Cortez said of how she felt at the moment.

“Ocasio-Cortez explained how she was in her office on the day of the riots when she heard loud banging on her door and a voice yelling, "Where is she? Where is she?" She ran and hid in an office bathroom, thinking an insurrectionist had broken in and she was about to die. Eventually, she learned the man was a Capitol police officer, who instructed her and her staffer to move to another building, where she ended up sheltering for hours in fellow congresswoman Katie Porter's office.”

Garbage

She lied. She was in her office across the street in the Cannon Bldg. where there were no mobs outside...not an office in the Capitol Bldg. One cop came in to check on her.
Also.......... "Ocasio-Cortez falsely accused Senator Ted Cruz of "trying to get [her] killed,""
Grow up.

Um I don't recall she saying she was in the Capitol. It's a made up story.

I cannot find even one news source, not even other far right sources, that make this claim. A reminder; all of the House and Senate was there to do their duty, so the story sounds just like that, a Story.....
