Lee was a traitor to his country and to his government and chose to lead the south when many in his family and nearly half his state chose to defend the United States of America.
Had it not been for Grant's influence Andrew Johnson would have led the court case to see to it that Lee be hung for treason.
He was not a hero ...Lee was not someone to revere or pay tribute to ...
