Afghan terrorist radicalized on recent trip to Afghanistan

seems he was radicalized just recently on a return trip to Afghanistan..Why was this guy not flagged for going to Afghanistan?

One thing I like about Trump -he's sensible about that.
If you come here from a "terrorists country" (sic) you would be subject to "extreme vetting"

(conversely) if you visit and return from the same -should you not be flagged and watched?

The guy's habits/attire had COMPLETEY changed upon return to the USA.
If he been given routine follow up, we would have known he'd become radicalized

How can we not be checking up on anyone -citizen or not -that goes to one of these places and returns?
It seems like normal due diligence to do so.

VETTING: Since he is a "naturalized" what do you do w/ him if you still suspect something after some mild forms of torture or advanced interrogation??

I'm talking about routine follow up. Go visit SA (like the san Bernadino folks) and you get profiled.
San Bernandino might have shown up - depending if they checked social media or not.
He was hiding it well.

But this guy had outward obvious signs upon return. Basic monitoring would have found that out.

It's not going to work all the time, but it needs to be done

Should all US troops who have served in Afghanistan be barred from re-entry to the USA?

After all, a deplorable claimed just the other day that Captain Khan was a Muslim terrorist infiltrator.

same thing we do now with suspicious behaviors.
It's a hierarchy .Routine monitoring with suspicious behavior moves them up to the actual terrorist watch list.

This is how we break up plots all the time

first time ever I heard her mention "vetting" today ( this while wanting at least 65k Syrian refugees in her first year).

She's not going to say anything.
She has to try to win independents with blandishments - while being careful not to offend her base
