feb 4 2016 SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will implement a "Rooney Rule" requiring that women be interviewed for executive positions with teams around the league and in his own office, too.

"We believe in diversity," Goodell said. "We believe we're better as an organization when we have good people at the table. We have great people at the table. We're also seeing it on the field. ...

"You can see that progress is being made and our commitment is, we have something called the Rooney Rule, which requires us to make sure when we have an opening that on the team or the league level that we are going to interview a diverse slate of candidates," Goodell said. "Well, we're going to make that commitment and we're going to formalize that we, as a league, are going to do that for women as well in all of our executive positions. Again, we're going to keep making progress here and make a difference."

Sorry girls but there is no giant conspiracy to not give you jobs. You just don't have the ability; and you know it. That's why you demand everyone give you special treatment.
 
This is either the silliest thing ever in football or the smartest. I have to wonder if NFL is looking to boost female involvement as a means of expanding profitability somehow. Also try and recover some or after the concussion debacle.

The concussion debacle is a scam The victims have no way to prove their impairment and no way to prove what caused it anyway. Just a bunch of old former players who mismanaged their retirement and now need money.

Smart move by the NFL. Husbands/boyfriends watch...get the women involved and nearly have double coverage.
 
The NFL is over. It is in its death throes and has peaked. It is beginning its descent as Americas dominant sport.

The left wing as they have done with all great American institutions has infiltrated. It started with Obama's boy Demaurice Smith and now this broad Goodell hired after the Ray Rice incident

I hope Goodell has a massive coronary during the Super Bowl
 
Goodell skipped the Patriots home opener, but I think he doesn't realize that he would have received abuse in most any of the 31 NFL venues. Here's hoping that he attends a home opener in Denver next September, and the fans make him cry.
 
this was a letdown article. I thought they were going to make teams hire more black cheerleaders......because that would be an awesome display of hotness

They proved tobacco cos knew smokes were bad for you. They may be able to prove they knew concussions were bad and intentionally did nothing.
But yes the old timers didn't get paid like today and too beat up to do much.
