ACORN vindicated...AGAIN, this time by the GAO.

Once again, ACORN, the GOP's bogeyman, favorite whipping boy, and alleged corrupt enterprise, was cleared of all allegations of corruption in its administration of taxpayer funded grants, this time by the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the nonpartisan congressional watchdog agency tasked with ensuring that the taxpayers' hard earned dollars are used properly.

The GAO joins the likes of the Brooklyn District Attorney's office, and the Attorney General of California in vindicating ACORN of any wrongdoing. In addition, a Federal judge ruled that the law passed by congress banning ACORN from any federal funding, was unconstitutional, a point I made at the time of the law's passage, to much jeering by the right.

So it appears the only crime of which ACORN was guilty, was registering thousands of new voters from poor neighborhoods, most of whom vote Democratic, which the scum-sucking pigs of the GOP couldn't allow to continue. Imagine their chagrin at the thought of poor people actually being allowed to vote! The very idea! So they got ACORN with trumped-up evidence like the phony, heavily edited video shown by Fox and CNN, and lots of lies by filth like John Boehner and Eric Cantor, resulting in an unconstitutional ex post facto law specifically punishing a single entity by name.

For nothing. Goddamn GOP swine and screw the Democratic pansies who jumped on board without investigating the phony charges.

A pox on both their houses...

here's a copy of the actual report....
http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d10648r.pdf

here is what the report covered...
(1) How much funding did federal agencies award to ACORN or potentially related organizations, and what was the source and purpose of the funding?
(2) To what extent did federal agencies apply oversight mechanisms when monitoring awards to ACORN or potentially related organizations to ensure funding was spent appropriately, and how were problems, if any, addressed?
(3) To what extent were federal investigations or prosecutions conducted of ACORN or potentially related organizations, and what were the nature and results of these investigations and prosecutions?

nothing in the report of
cleared of all allegations of corruption in its administration of taxpayer funded grants,

It's a completely moot point now. The smeer job worked. ACORN is no more. Tells you what either party think of grass roots political activism, doesn't it?

Yeah, all either party cares about any more is pleasing their corporate masters and keeping those "campaign contributions" rolling in, which they get to keep when they retire. One would think that any such funds would then immediately become prima facie evidence of bribery, wouldn't one, since funding a campaign is the only legal way one can give money to a politician? When was the last time anyone heard a Senator announce his retirement, effective the last day of his current term, on the first day of that term? Or any time except 6-12 months before the end of his term? So that's 5 to 5 1/2 years of collecting close to $5,000 per day, every day, between $9 million and $10.5 million for a campaign that's not going to happen, if ther decision to retire was made at the beginning of the term, but not announced publicly until the end. Of course, after the announcement, it would be unethical to accept campaign funds, but before, not so much.

How conveeeeenient.
