"Voters across the country delivered a series of decisive victories for abortion rights on Tuesday in the first nationwide election since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June.

The biggest surprise came in Republican-leaning Kentucky, where an antiabortion amendment was defeated, clearing a potential path for abortion access to be restored in a state with one of the country’s most restrictive bans.

In Michigan, where Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) was reelected in part by presenting herself as a champion of abortion rights, voters approved a ballot initiative that will enshrine the right to abortion in the state constitution — preventing a 1931 abortion ban from taking effect...."

Even in states that maintain perverted republican values, a Handmaid's Tale scenario was too much to tolerate.

The republicans still have issues to promote--they still want to end social security, for example, and divert public school money to vouchers--
but we may be beginning to see the insane fundy-christian influence diminish among their young.

It will hopefully undergo the loss of influence that Catholicism has thankfully undergone in Southern Europe.

Although a secular humanist in practice, I am ethnically catholic as an ethnic Sicilian.
The faith of the Kennedys and Cuomos, and the Father / Congressman Robert Drinans has become the faith of the Paul Ryans, Newt Gingriches, and Rick Santorums in America.
Maybe Nancy refuses to refute it, but it couldn't have been easier for me.

Abortion isn't infanticide to those who understand the English language, this obviously not including you.

Neither fetuses nor embryos are infants.

I also happen to believe in euthanizing infants who are excessively challenged and unlikely to live a quality life, but that isn't the discussion that we're having.

I do have a problem with how fast and loose we tend to get with the King's English, however.
