After watching the reaction to the email thing this morning, it's clear how Trump benefits, and that this is basically what he needed. This election was likely going to be a blowout in Hillary's favor, and now Trump has a real shot. I actually think he wins now.

But man, are Democrats pissed. Comey broke w/ Justice Dept. & FBI tradition, and really made this political. A campaign that was becoming complacent & had little passion just became galvanized & incredibly determined.

Given that Clinton's advantage in the ground game is absolutely enormous, that's not a small thing. MANY more doors are going to get knocked on in the upcoming week. If Trump overplays his hand on this (see: Watergate), it could negate the advantage he got yesterday.

What an interesting final week this is shaping up to be.
 
I have not seen much "fear" on the left about the Emails thus far..:dunno:

Could this actually be the Trojan horse the dirty was talking about??

If it turns out to be nothing his conspiracy bull shit would seem to have had the rug pulled out from under them/him...??
 
nate silver said that if clinton drops just 2pts from this it brings her chances down to 68% to win the election. If she drops more than that it's actually going to be very close.

I disagree, Bill. I have seen incredible fear on the left - they thought this thing was done, and now it's up in the air. No one knows how this affects the electorate. And they don't have 10 days to fix it - people are voting right now.

I actually don't think Comey is partisan, but his actions really were reckless. I agree w/ anatta that he was probably trying to overcompensate after the criticism he got from the right previously. It's pretty unreal that he did this, w/ a week to go in the election.
 
Blame Lynch and Bill Clinton for putting Comey in an untenable position in the first place -
he was set up as the fall guy.
 
thing1 do you have any idea how fucking psycho things would get if it came out after the election comey had more evidence but sat on it? all of trumps claims of it being a rigged election would resonate. I dont know how the country would recover. Clinton has no one to blame but herself for this mess.

Good, they need a good scare to make sure they get off their butts & get their kin, neighbors & fellow employees off theirs & vote.......

That's just based on paranoia though - the FBI Director has no obligation to play to that, and shouldn't. What he did goes AGAINST FBI tradition - it's pretty unprecedented. He will have a much harder time justifying why he violated his agency's own unofficial policy on going public w/ this kind of information.

Exactly - and up until yesterday, that was the biggest danger to Clinton.

It's been replaced by a bigger threat, but apathy & complacency will no longer be a problem.

As usual Grind abides and Trump sets the narrative. If were any other milquetoast candidate like Kasich Comey would have held it. But Trump forced his hand

well traditionally we typically avoid having a presidential candidate under FBI investigation.. soooooo
 
you know here is a thought experiment for you thing1

huma should know what's on her laptop.

if they are emails they already turned over, no big deal. Why not just come out and publicly say that? If you are clintons camp and you know there is nothing bad on that laptop, wouldn't you be declaring immediately the FBI will find nothing? Wouldn't you go over exactly what non-issue stuff is on that laptop and list it out?

But they aren't doing that. Are they.

Oh sure, they are calling for the FBI to release it (knowing that wont happen in 11 days) and thus it's a bluff. If they really wanted to clear their names though they would just have to inform us there isn't anything on it.

Which to me indicates that there is some very damning stuff there.

The last conclusion is kind of a stretch - I have only seen the hardcore partisans state that since yesterday. Most feel like it's the FBI doing their due diligence, and that it's extremely unlikely that anything surprising will come out. All Comey really said was that they have to go over the new evidence - not that there was any likelihood of anything one way or the other. Even he doesn't know if there is "damning" stuff on their or not. It's just new evidence they have to review.

This was never going to be a blowout. Even before this investigation Trump was closing the gap significantly. All those Never Trumpers were going to fold in the end. I am glad I made my prediction BEFORE Comey. I stand by that prediction. By next week this race will be within 2 points nationally and Trump will be tied or ahead in most if not all battlegrounds. Then it will break for Trump. Trumps closing argument just needs to be "do you really want to elect someone whose decisions ALWAYS puts her under a cloud of suspicion?" Game set match.

The media has willfully ignored all of the things that favor Trump this election. I don't discount he is a flawed candidate. He is. But as Michael Moore so aptly said "he is the biggest FUCK YOU" in American political history

Some might find it offensive for people to think that way in their vote but I get it. If you think the whole thing is coming undone then you want to be the one to pull the pin on the grenade

My hope is that Truml gets elected then impeached and we get Pence.

why doesn't team clinton declare unequivically there is nothing there? I haven't seen them do that.
 
trump needs to hang around for at least a year to give an opportunity for many jpp libs to kill themselves.

That IS the whole point.....what we think is FBI 'tradition' is out the window....other than lefty partisans, everyone else sees Hillary is as guilty as sin, the gov.
totally turned political, the IRS and Lois Learner taking the 5th, the State Dept, Loretta Lynch taking the 5th, Obama flatly stating Hillary didn't put the
country in danger despite Comey's sworn testimony of her gross negligence, Wikileaks revelations about the corruption and hypocrisy of Clinton's campaign, and Clinton still winning the election. The electorate is confused, discouraged, angry, and most now realized they have no where to turn. There is no help coming and they can do is just tolerate the corruption and injustice. The elite are above the law and will rule.

I think they've implied that Comey doesn't have anything new.

Look, there isn't really anything to prevent them doing what you're saying - even if it is NOT true. They just want to win the election at this point. I don't really have a guess as to why they are not coming out & saying there is nothing there. It doesn't matter to them if there is or isn't; whatever there is wouldn't come out until after the election, anyway.
