A governor with balls

And where would these corporations be without their workers? Would they be better off with highly paid and skilled workers or would they be better off with their stockholders?

They would be in China, Indonesia, Mexico, etc....just where the greed of unions chased them.
Without the investor there would be no corporation....and of course, no job for anybody.

Yeah, again, what would they do without the workers? Thanks for answering my question. Corporations, without their workers ain't shit! Big ideas aren't worth much unless they can be implemented.

Wages should not be commensurate with company growth or company profit....

YOU are paid for a job...a skill...you take no risks in the investment, you take no risk up front, you take no risk at all.....

You get paid for what you do, whether the company makes a profit or not...You don't share in the losses or profits.....PERIOD.

Ahhh, but that's just it. Union members are asked to share in the losses by accepting wage cuts and in the case of governments sometimes forced to accept wage cuts.

That's why unions don't naively go along. The "we're in this together" and "let's work together" crap is just that, crap. Where is the "we're in this together" when companies turn around and profits rise? Where is the "let's work together" when economies are doing great and governments have surpluses?

I asked, "Show one company which experienced above average growth/expansion and employee's wages were commensurate with the increase." and you replied, "Wages should not be commensurate with company growth or company profit...."

So, why should unions go along with wage cuts?

When businesses and governments start "getting along" unions will start "going along". (Paraphrasing Eddie Albert.) :)

Well thats the difference o' dense one....union workers are ASKED to share in losses sometimes...and thats actually seldom in private employment and almost never in government employment.....investors don't have the luxury of a choice...sometimes they win and sometimes they lose...they take a chance....

"We're in this together"..??? CRAP ???
Well, you want a job and the company wants a profit....thats togetherness...if you don't like it...move the fuck on....theres PLENTY of jobs out there for you, right....
If you don't like it, move on and let the investors lose their investments...you'll show 'em who is boss....Hows that workin' for you now?

Unions don't have to accept wage cuts....thats exactly what Gov. Christie told you happened...the union didn't accept the cuts he asked for...no one forced cuts on them, it was their choice...so WTF are you talking about? The amount of money to pay them is FINITE...not INFINITE.

When workers realize that its a free country,....they can work for whats offered or let someone else have the job......Especially the illegal Mexicans that can't wait to have that job.

Tax payers won't get raped and those that want a job will find one at the going rate....according to the value of your skill.....thats way it always was and thats the way it should be....

Now..all this may sound harsh, but reality is reality....taxpayers don't have unlimited funds to fork over to government to make others prosper....

What are you talking about? Christie was going on about teacher lay-offs due to the union’s refusal to accept pay cuts.

Bev Perdue of North Carolina is contemplating pay cuts.

Works fine. Investors have a choice between accepting a bit less profit or losing their entire investment. Think GM. The point is once wages are cut they seldom go back even when the company improves. Furthermore, companies are usually against the union being involved in their business, which is fine, but don’t make it out to be “we” and “us” when there is no “we” and “us”.

Unions don't have to accept wage cuts....thats exactly what Gov. Christie told you happened...the union didn't accept the cuts he asked for...no one forced cuts on them, it was their choice...so WTF are you talking about?

I’m talking about WHY unions seldom accept pay cuts.

So you’re for illegal immigration. I didn’t realize you were such a compassionate person.

It’s fine to accept lower wages when the economy is doing poorly. However, it’s neither fair nor logical to continue lower wages when the economy improves and that’s the point.

A contract is a contract.

I don't care if unions go along with wage cuts, when the company is hemorrhaging they can either okay the freeze or have a bunch of people who take a 100% pay cut. There really is no other option. They just shouldn't be "shocked" and say it is an "attack" on the worker when the job losses start coming in.
