The family had yet to fully resolve the perceived public betrayals and failed attempts at reconciliation in the more than two years since the attack on the U.S. Capitol, and Peyton, 18 years old at this latest gathering, wasn’t sure whether she was ready to confront her brother, Jackson, for everything that had happened since he secretly turned their father in to the FBI.

“Actions are actions. Dad went to the Capitol with a gun,” said Jackson, then 20 years old. “He walked up the Capitol steps with a gun on his hip.”

Once upon the time the Right claimed to be the party of personal responsibility. "Don't do the crime if you are not prepared to do the crime".


Now we see people like these two on the right arguing criminals should not go to jail, as a way to keep the family together.

I guess this would keep a lot more families in the ghettos together so I will agree. Its an interesting take and i am willing to consider it that if you are part of a family, the law should no longer apply, regardless of the crime as Expresslane is arguing.

If the guy was so easily fooled by a con man and then followed Trump's orders to attack the capital, You cannot blame the left. The hate and violence of the right is a poison to their families and the nation.
My left-wing family did not attack the capitol and try to overthrow a fair and honest election. Yours may have.

the one thing Trump exposed beyond all else is that 30% of the GOp base is just soulless. Interesting how it correlates with the most religious group too.

Trump should be everything they reject. Adulterer (cheats on every wife, with porn stars etc), liar (too long to list), thief and charleton stealing from the most vulnerable (Trump University, Trump CHarity, etc),, a bully who mocks the disabled and women.

There is nothing redeeming about Trump but because he has a chance to bring them some power they put all that aside. Power and power alone is all they care about. Everything else can be traded.
