No one ever mistook Democrats for being the least bit sincere or honest when they completely reversed course from insisting that (and mapping out precisely how) mail-in ballots would result in the theft of the presidency...to demanding that we enact it.
Especially since their total 180 on the issue was over the imaginary danger of an ordinary 99.7% survival rate coronavirus, while everyone was somehow able to safely grocery shop, dine, riot, go to movies, and everything else except for voting in person.
And never mind the fact that Democrats also tried to force through mail-in voting in 2019, well before their bogus COVID scaremongering became the excuse. Or that they are on the record bragging about and explaining in specific detail how they use mail-in voting to flat-out steal elections on a regular basis.
Much like their widely-rejected, insultingly idiotic lie that minorities (who overwhelmingly support voter ID) are too stupid, disorganized, and poor to perform pedestrian adult tasks such as obtaining voter IDs (which are required for every other aspect of adult life, including for voting in in 99% of Europe), the facts prove that Democrats' sudden insistence on mail-in voting was about nothing more than murdering democracy while pretending to save it.
For instance, absentee ballots were already a thing. The only difference between them and mail-in voting was that mail-in voting was notorious for being completely disastrously unsecured, unreliable, and broadly susceptible to massive amounts of Democrat cheating and fraud, as Democrats themselves had already spent years arguing (they were against mail-in voting before they realized it was their lifeline).
