He was a US citizen born in Illinois, she was from Pakistan.

She entered the USA on a K-1 visa, which requires a foreigner to marry his or her U.S. citizen petitioner within 90 days of entry, or depart the United States.

They married, and she applied for permanent residency status.

The background check on the wife tuned up nothing because there was nothing to turn up.

Bigots want to blame refugees for the actions of a native-born US citizen and his wife who entered the US legally with proper background checks.

Is "being a Muslim" a crime, now?
