I actually think there is a conflict here. Besides I always say that for the legal system to work judges should be held to a much much much higher standard than every other actor in the legal system. It is the only thing that justifies the massive power they wield. It should not be a big deal for this judge to recuse himself given that he is a member of a group that actively helps illegal immigrants.

You have got to be kidding. The higher standard the judge should be held to is not being of Mexican decent? There are people here illegally from countries all over the world, should we have no judges unless they are Native American?

I hate to bring this up, simply due to Godwin's law, but it's appropriate if we're going to start digging around in with this aspect of the idiocy of Trump and his supporters.

If a judge of Mexican descent should recuse himself from a case because he is of Mexican descent (but was born in Indiana), then Trump should count himself as unfit to run for president because, as someone of German heritage, he's a Nazi.

Only complete and utter idiots (and yes, if you think Trump is right, you are absolutely an idiot) think "sins of ancestry" are the way to approach anything, or anyone.
