2/3 of Americans want repeal of Bush tax cuts

You liberals are too funny! You act like money is some resource which is arbitrarily handed out, and poor people simply didn't get their share, while rich people got more than they deserved! You even use phraseology to convey that train of thought.... "less fortunate" and "fortunate" is a good example of this. "Fortunate" means you have benefited from some fortune, or good luck. "Less fortunate" means you weren't as lucky! It has absolutely nothing to do with work ethic, being smart with your investments, making sacrifices and doing without in the short term, so you can have more in the long term.

Yes, rich people "made out like bandits" with the Bush tax cuts, because rich people are essentially paying all the taxes! They are also providing all the jobs to people who aren't rich, and investing in expansion and growth of their enterprises, which generate even more tax revenues to be spent on people who are "less fortunate!"

As for the dumb ass fake poll, I don't buy it. Either people are just too stupid to understand economics, or the poll was completely rigged by a bunch of idiot liberals... either way, it's bogus. But.....hey, Democrat liberals are in charge now... so go ahead and repeal the Bush tax cuts! Hell, raise taxes on the rich to 95%! We'll get to see first hand, how your idiotic liberal policies and fake polls effect the economy.

What they need to do is come out and describe the plan. He's not planning on raising the rich's taxes for 2yrs. He needs to have all his foot soldiers saying it over and over.
I know tanman is a young pup so he wouldn't know. But yes luxury purchases are way down. The guy building the Yatch, the lexus, the jumbo home is out of work.

True but the spin off economy for luxury items is way less than from the middle and upper middle classes who are not buying a new car every 3 years and sending their women folk shopping once a month.

That's not the point here. Borrowing money to pay for a foreign war is not only irresponsible it is immoral. As a deficit reduction and revenue generating method for financing the war the wealthiest should have their taxes raised dramatically. Since it was the wealthy ruling class that advocated the war in Iraq, they should pay for it and if they don't want their taxes raised to fight this war then we should stop fighting and get out of Iraq.

The people in this country need to know there is no free lunch when it comes to war. War should and does costs blood and treasure and if we don't think the war is worth the blood and treasure we shouldn't be going to war.

This is, in fact, how things are proceeding.

Stiglitz, my own personal economist hero, was saying we should let the private banks fail, and have public institutions to make loans people need. There is absolutely no reasons why these failed banks are a single point of failure for the entire economy, except for the fact that the bankers run society, and they like raping us all.

Mott, I think you need to voice your displeasure about the war to the appropriate people, Republicans haven't got a thing to do with Iraq now, that would be President Obama. He has committed to another 15k troops in Iraq and 17k in Afghanistan through 2011. I also don't recall the "wealthy ruling class" ever being summoned to Washington to vote for authorization to use military force in Iraq, I believe that was the US Congress.
