Default Why the fuss over aborton & how the SCOTUS rules on it, is much ado about nothing....

...and why abortion will not only NOT cease to exist, but become even more commonplace than ever before.

The answer is simple... abortion pills.

There are multiple safe and effective brands available to women.

One I looked into is called Misoprostol that causes a woman's body to abort a pregnancy.

Often sold in pharmacies, misoprostol is inexpensive, easy to store and handle, and is a safe method for people seeking to end their pregnancy. The medication softens and dilates the cervix, causes uterine contractions, and pushes pregnancy tissue out. Misoprostol’s multidimensional use in medicine makes it more accessible when compared to other abortion pills, like mifepristone. Misoprostol is 85% successful in inducing abortion in the first trimester, when used as recommended.

So let's say the SCOTUS strikes down Roe v Wade but they cannot outlaw abortion outright so they leave it up to individual states. And let's say that they let stand the absurd law that allows people to sue anyone who assistes a woman obtaining an abortion in any way, (which is something I doubt they'll do anyway as it will probably be ruled unconstitutional).

But what will happen in such a scenario?

In my opinion, women in non abortion states will just be able to order any of these abortion pills online, have them delivered through the mail, have their abortion in the privacy of their own homes and there will be nothing anyone can do about it.

Even if steps are taken by Bible thumping rwnj zealots to try to stop or discourage it, or even if nutjobs try to sue companies selling the pills, or states make having an abortion a crime, the operations can be moved to other states where it is legal, or even to other counries where the US civil code has no jurisdiction.

Long and short of it.... abortions will continue unabated and unhindered, even if the out of control right does everything they can to try to stop it. Thanks to the rwnj fundie Bible nitwits, the number of abortions in this country will probably INCREASE substantially rather than decrease or go away.

Before long, having an abortion will be similar to taking a shit. Women will take a pill, sit on the toilet dump the unwanted glob of cells and flush it down the sewer.

    Nice work, MORONS!!!!

It will cease to be government funded and the practice of all taxpayers donating to the DNC involuntarily will cease as well.

Also your disgusting disregard for human life is duly noted.

Perhaps DEMOCRATS still don't consider Black people to be human.

I think it is about the Principle of a woman having control of her own body.
It is the Religious Types that want to 'control' women into being 'obedient'.
It is interesting that the Religious Types are in support of Big Government interfering in a Citizen's Personal Life.

There are two bodies involved, Jacky. After a period of time , there are two hearts, two brains, two bodies. She can do what she wants to her body but the other body has rights, the main one is not to be murdered by the woman.

That does seem to be the Argument.
I believe the Consensus is that one is an Independent Living Being, ... while the other isn't.

A beating heart does not happen in a dead body, Jack. It is a living being. If it isn’t, why the need to kill it?

I think the reasoning is that the Independent Human Being gets to make the Decision, NOT the Ayatollah.

Do you have any more gems, Jacky?

    The Ayatollah? Good grief, Jack.

How about the duly authorized Supreme Court...6-3...the final arbiter of the law, as deemed their responsibility and duty by the Constitution, make the decision.

Why do you not understand our system of Justice and the Constitution?

So, you support 'Abortion on Demand'. 50 years is a long time, Earl. Glad you finally came around.

Why do you think they don't do that already? I'm sure some do but there are still 600,000 abortions per year. A pill seems easier and cheaper.
