Ruh roh, another false equivalency. This time, not cars and guns. This time, airplanes and guns.

The stupidity of the barrel strokers is amazing.

There are an estimated 10.4 million private swimming pools in the United States. In 2017, the CDC reported 3,709 accidental drownings. That yields a rate per 100,000 pools of 35.66.

On average, there were about 400 reported pool/spa drowning deaths among children younger than age 15 each year from 2016 through 2018, according to new CPSC data.

Lot more guns than pools!!!! Pools kill more kids than guns

Pools: more dangerous for children than guns
A child is 100 times more likely to drown in a pool than be killed by a gun

40,000 or so gun deaths. Every year. Year in. Year our.

yep, that is how nazi germany started. dumbass. and the taliban. dumbass.

very few people are talking about banning all guns for private use, but believing they could be used to stop our military from taking over if somehow push came to shove is pure lunacy. those days are long gone. if the military/police/government forces all went nuts and were under the power of some dictator, they would not care about civilian casualties. if they received fire from some armed citizen, they would destroy the whole neighborhood if need be.

Putting a tax of several hundred percent on ammunition and the material required to make it, or just outlawing the sale and possession of it while making possession/sale/manufacture a felony punishable with mandatory prison time would also be pretty effective.
    Bingo.

The heavy regulation of machine guns in 1986 made them increasingly inaccessible. See any murders with one? Nope.

At least he wouldn't be able to go into a shopping mall or any other public gathering spot and mow down dozens of people before he hung himself.

And THAT is the most important thing.

Didn't have that in the 30s 40s 50s 60s 70s 80s when gun laws were far less in effect...so its a people issue now! Somethings wrong and its not guns

We also didn't have people on Psychotropic Drugs like we do now

    Xanax (alprazolam), 48.5 million.
    Zoloft (sertraline), 41.4 million.
    Celexa (citalopram), 39.4 million.
    Prozac (fluoxetine), 28.3 million.
    Ativan (lorazepam), 27.9 million.
    Desyrel (trazodone HCL), 26.2 million.
    Lexapro (escitalopram), 24.9 million.

And they start people on them very young

The Drugging of the American Boy

By the time they reach high school, nearly 20 percent of all American boys will be diagnosed with ADHD. Millions of those boys will be prescribed a powerful stimulant to "normalize" them. A great many of those boys will suffer serious side effects from those drugs. The shocking truth is that many of those diagnoses are wrong, and that most of those boys are being drugged for no good reason—simply for being boys. It's time we recognize this as a crisis.

NEARLY 20% OF ALL BOYS WILL HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH ADHD—A 37% INCREASE SINCE 2003.

Semi-automatic weapons don't kill people, fuckwit. Why don't you address the actual problem, which is the PEOPLE who are using such tools to kill other people?? Maybe start with the black supremacist who intentionally ran over a bunch of children in Waukesha?? Or do you suggest that we ban cars now??? "The lives of our children is a small price to pay for your freedom to own vehicles to drive to work with" ...... Fuckwit.

    Stop blaming drugs.

They have not been shown to be a factor in most murders.

Something else we didin't have in thise past decades you listed.... several times the number of guns being pumped out by several times the number of gun manufacturers.

Certainly, the mentality of society has changed thanks in large part to all the violent imagery we get fed a steady diet of on TV, in movies and in video games. People have become so numb to gun related violent images presented as entertainment, more people are less repulsed by the idea of actually committing violent acts.

We have a combination of factors that should not exist side by side with each other... a society with a violent mentality, a huge overabundance of guns and ridiculously easy access to them.
