Denied tools for his defense, Assange remains resilient ahead of ‘epic’ extradition battle – Pilger

Julian Assange is in high spirits despite being deprived the materials he needs for his defense, veteran journalist John Pilger has reported, adding that Assange’s upcoming extradition hearing will be a battle for democracy.
Pilger tweeted out a status update after visiting the WikiLeaks co-founder in Belmarsh Prison.

“Denied the tools to prepare his defence against extradition to America, [Assange’s] resilience endures,” he wrote, stating that Assange’s upcoming court hearing will being an “epic fight… the fight of democracy.”

Assange will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday as he battles to stop his extradition to the United States.

In the US, Assange is charged with possession and dissemination of classified information. If found guilty, he could receive up to 175 years in prison. The journalist has been in Washington’s crosshairs for more than a decade, after WikiLeaks published a video showing the US military attacking journalists and civilians in Iraq in July 2007.

It's quite sickening that the US should refuse to send an American woman back to the UK where she admittedly killed a UK citizen before fleeing - and yet demand that the nauseatingly subservient Brits should extradite Julian Assange to its fucked-up judicial system wherein he will be convicted of being a journalist and be subject to 175 years in prison.

Julian Assange extradition judge refuses request for delay

WikiLeaks founder’s legal team wanted an extra month to submit evidence
    https://www.theguardian.com/media/20...elay-wikileaks

The stitch-up continues. The Brit poodles are ready to extradite a journalist to a country which oppresses whistleblowers- whereas that same country refuses to return a killer to the UK - claiming Diplomatic Immunity which she never had.

Orwell & Huxley were BOTH right, Roger Waters tells RT

With the mainstream media largely content to ignore the plight of Julian Assange, did George Orwell or Aldous Huxley better predict the world of today? Both did, former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters told RT.
“Orwell and Huxeley were always arguing about who had the closest view of what dystopia might look like in the future,” said Waters, adding “I think we got a lot of both.”

Yes, of course. Its value is that it offers a counter to our own propaganda. The truth is, generally, discovered somewhere inbetween- although RT certainly has the moral high ground at this point in time.
Throw Al Jazeera news into the mix for a more balanced and diverse viewpoint.

Sweden drops Julian Assange rape investigation

    https://www.theguardian.com/media/20...-investigation

He'll be hoping that the Tories lose the Brit elections- because they will hand him over to the US like the simpering assholes that they are.
Assange exposed US war crimes- as a journalist. The Brits are now facing war crimes charges themselves.
If your ' patriotism ' is based upon war crimes then you are, indeed, a fascist.

Reality: AG BARR is trying to speed up the extraction of ASSANGE to the United States because of the Dana Rohrabacher interview with ASSANGE. Assange told this congressman that he has physical evidence that RUSSIA did not hack the DNC.....the emails release was accomplished as an INSIDE job from within the Clinton campaign......evidence points to SETH RICH as the one who actually was in contact with ASSANGE.

Rohrabacher was recently seen going to a meeting with AG BARR. Do the math.

All the more reason for keeping Assange away from American injustice.

DOJ offers Julian Assange a misdemeanor plea deal of mishandling classified documents. The US needs a guilty plea to avoid a trial on the illegal prosecution of an Australian journalist and publisher.
