Colt released a statement on Thursday to clarify the decision, which was made because the company simply isn’t selling enough of the rifles in the civilian marketplace to continue devoting the resources into it — a pattern that may be attributed to Colt rifles’ $1,000+ price tag and a market supplied with lower priced competitors.

I own a Springfield Armory M1-A. Paid $500 and a shotgun for it.

More powerful than the AR or AK, and it's an actual military issued weapon. Come and get it

Make it an offer so good, it can't be refused.

Turn families against each other for money; that's the kind of family separation I can get behind.
Good idea except that gun owners tend to be greedy capitalist bastards lol.

People would sell theirs ‘back?’ to the government, then go out and buy another one and pocket the profit margin.

These buybacks are supposedly "no questions asked." The only ones who will sell them back are criminals who've used them in crimes. Good way to get rid of the evidence.

Good point except I expect a lot of people would sell their guns ‘back’ just for the money.

Millions of guns are traded for money every year in pawn shops. The problem with the idea is it’s pointless, as long as there is a demand for guns and someone willing to meet the demand.

Guns are here to stay. Though I understand Beto wants to go door to door and confiscate them. I’m pretty sure Beto hasn’t thought that through lol.

This is such a great example of an expensive and pointless lefty initiative lol.

A government buy ‘back’ means the government would be competing in the used gun market. IOW, they would be competing against pawn shops and private buyers in the used gun market. Before anyone sells their gun ‘back’ to the government they’re going to see what they can get out of it in the private market.

Granted, there would be small segment of virtue signalers that would sell their guns ‘back’ to the government for less than what it would fetch in the private market. But the only way the government would be an effective competitor would be to meet the market price.

Which would get real expensive really quick. And have little to no effect on the number of guns in circulation.

    IOW, a typical lefty initiative.

Yeah, there's those who inherited them and won't use them will sell them back.

Don't pawn shops have to have a FFL to deal in firearms now? Pawn Stars won't take anything made after the late 1800's.

No, they aren't going anywhere. Beto put the final nail in his presidential bid posing confiscation of said firearms. Only the stupidest of liberals support him.

Idk about the FFL thing but I frequent the local pawns for power tools and such. Everyone I’ve been in has lots and lots of guns of every type.

And yeah, Beto is an idiot lol.
