Default Scale of Brexit disaster for Brits unfolding.

British food and drink exports to EU fall by £2bn in first quarter of 2021

British food and drink exports to the EU fell by £2bn in the first three months of 2021, with sales of dairy products plummeting by 90%, according to an analysis of HMRC data.

Brexit checks, stockpiling and Covid have been blamed for much of the downturn, but the sector has said the figures show structural rather than teething problems with the UK’s departure from the EU.

“The loss of £2bn of exports to the EU is a disaster for our industry, and is a very clear indication of the scale of losses that UK manufacturers face in the longer-term due to new trade barriers with the EU,” said Dominic Goudie, the head of international trade at the Food and Drink Federation (FDF).

He called on the government to “stop prevaricating” over proposals to help exporters “shut out of trading with the EU”.

Much of the really bad news is being suppressed- but the Brexit blunderers do what they do best. Blunder on.

Other internal producers, I guess. It won't take very long for European consumers to forget about British products as the decades of advertising and promotion fade. It works in reverse, - but the Brexit-induced price hikes - right across the board- make EU products less desirable, even before the new import taxes. You can see what an absolute panic the Brexiteers are in by their haste in making unfavorable trade deals with Australia- half a world away and with the concomitant extra shipping costs. How dumb can you get- ditching trade with the world's largest trading bloc when it's only 20 miles away in favor of inferior standard goods from the other side of the world.
Bozo Johnson planned deals with El Trumpo, of course.

Yes. And similarly, the world has moved on from U.S goods/services. Now we show up with hat in hand, apologizing for the moron scam artist who Putin installed as POTUS. It will take years to undo the damage that trump has done.

Yes, and then some. Personally, I believe that AIPAC and the Israel lobby installed El Trumpo. His actions in gifting the Middle East to Izrael show the wisdom of ' following the money ' I can't see that he did anything of value for the Russians.

Clinton was seen as pretty pro Israel, but there's no doubt that Bibi wanted trump.

As for Russia, we still don't know exactly what trump kept hidden from the public with respect to his financier Putin. He refused to enact sanctions that were passed overwhelmingly by Congress. He eased the sanctions on the billionaire who does business with McConnell. Don't remember his name right now.

    Chaos at Dover port

Brexit means security checks taking longer, says port chief
Doug Bannister, chief executive of the Port of Dover, has said that extra checks needed since Brexit were causing longer transaction times at border control, after French politician Pierre-Henri Dumont blamed Brexit for the disruption seen on Friday.

    Bannister told the Today programme:

We are operating in a post-Brexit environment which does mean that passports need to be checked, they need to be stamped and indeed the capable people that do man the booths – police aux frontieres – they’re doing their job that they need to do now.

He added that the port had “created more border capacity so that the overall throughput can be maintained”, and that their modelling had shown there will be some “very peak busy days during the summer season” but “for the most part we should be able to cope with the traffic”.

Earlier, the ISU – the union for borders, immigration and customs staff – also said Brexit was to blame for additional checks.

Get this; The French sent more staff to help the dopey Brits but they couldn't get on a ferry . They went to the UK via the Channel Tunnel instead but it exits at Folkstone and they couldn't get to Dover...................because the roads were jammed.

Thick Lizzie will save them. Not.

The queues at Dover are an outcome of Brexit – and totally predictable

Almost the whole point of the EU is to make the movement of goods and people easier within its borders

Spiralling inflation, crops left in the field and travel chaos: 10 reasons Brexit has been disastrous for Britain

As small businesses crumble, shelves get emptier and the care-worker shortage intensifies, life outside the EU is having a dire effect on many of us. Why aren’t politicians talking about it?

Dumbass Tory Brits didn't give a fuck when they voted themselves into penury and they don't give a fuck now. They have Socialism's security safety net to fall back on.

Bank of England forecasts a recession and 13% inflation for the UK.

Scotland would very much like independence and rejoining with Europe.
