They were smart enough to not include things that were not needed, such as declaring what type of economic system we would use. This leaves it up to We The People to decide, gives us all options.
Like much of the world, the USA has determined that a hybrid Capitalist / Socialist system is best. Socialism for the things people need and Capitalism for the things people want. Basic logic.
