normally that's how it goes..im just wondering if he wants to do it or spend the full term here..he's still young and can run next time, but I would be surprised if he doesnt do a POTUS run now

I’m certainly not some political guru Karl Rove type but from a timing perspective it seems like now would be an optimal opportunity. If he runs and wins the nomination he would be facing either an 82 year old incumbent likely with low pill numbers or someone like Kamala Harris or Gavin Newsom, people he probably thinks he can beat.

That’s not to say he couldn’t wait and run in the future but have to think he’s thinking he can win now.

DeSantis has made trips to several MidWest States, Iowa several times, and with Federal positions on the ballot as Congress, gerrymandering can effect the turnout knowing your vote is just about useless

Getting ready to "investigate" fraud that doesn't exist

doesnt sound bad to me . voting is a right, but not ballot harvsting, and voters lists are not static
I've read of states that dont allow but very cursory voting lists update, but id have to source that

This agency will review allegations of fraud, initiate independent inquiries and carry out preliminary investigations.

You are definitely not wrong to think at that age he would have future opportunities if he waits. Being political junkies it would be fun to be a fly on the wall when he and his advisors are having honest discussions about the pros and cons of running now and what they think his path would look like in the future if he chooses to wait.

Establishing a special entity to suddenly "investigate" elections, answerable to the Governor in a year he is running, when there is no evidence of election fraud challenging anything in Florida, isn't a bit suspicious?

He's running, you know he is running, everybody in America who pays any attention knows he is running, and 2024 could be his shot, why wait when you think the GOP will win knowing you might have to wait till you are 53, that would be another decade being just a Governor when you think you aspire to something bigger

Exactly, 183 days equates to two days over six months, and once established, they come and go as they please, often spending two or three months in Florida

Villages are about a little over an hour dr. to the NW. not really in the same metro area, but gated communities are everywhere

That 183 days is every year. I know quite a few snowbirds, and if the are just coming down for the winter..they dont vote here.

hospitalization is a key metric, cases counts are so inflated with PCR tests that use too many cycles .

a positive test is meaningless in terms of suffering - although early prophylaxis use was frowned upon by our ossified, politicized worthless CDC and such.

DeSantis to his credit had monoclonal antibodies stationed all over Florida. I think he was the only governor to do that, before Biden pulled the rug out from under because he wanted to "save" for other states

I do agree he's not going to bullied out of the primaries by Trump or anyone else if he does.

He did serve in Iraq and got a Bronze Star, and was in Congress and this would be a 2 term governor-
