If exiting the flu season will get rid of Covid-19, and entering it would cause it to be worse, then the USA should be fine, as Havana claims, and Australia and New Zealand should be a mess. The opposite is true.

It's just warming up in the Southern USA, it's going into Winter in New Zealand and Australia. Whilst you can catch the flu at any time, it's more likely to happen in the colder months of the year (April to October). The flu season typically peaks in August.
