Is Putin going to blow up the centuries-old buildings? There's no way to rebuild things like that.

I just don't understand the motivation here. If Putin reduces Kiev to rubble, he's accomplished nothing.

I hope not. Unfortunately, many Ukrainians are willing to die to be part of NATO's hypocrisy and won't come out .

I don't disagree. Shame about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, wasn't it.

Ukraine was showing the Russian people there is another alternative, western freedom. If Putin destroys that alternative, then he gets to continue to rule Russia. The primary point is to destroy the progress that Ukraine has made.

In the last couple of years, buildings and communities that are thousands of years old have been destroyed. Centuries no longer seems like that much of a big deal.

I am really saddened by Ain Dara. When trump handed our Kurdish allies over to the Turks for genocide, the Turks also destroyed Ain Dara. It is a temple in Syria that matches the time period and description of the First Temple. Obviously, it is not the First Temple, because that was in Jerusalem, but it gives us insight into the religions of the early iron age Semitic people. The First Temple was built by Solomon.

I don't disagree. Shame about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, wasn't it.
That was to stop a war involving many more people.

An invasion of Japan would have dragged on for years. About 50% similar to Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

When you invade someone's neighborhood, they know the territory and you don't.

Zelensky and Ukraine have already won.

Now ... the World gets to watch Putin keep digging a bigger and bigger hole for himself.

    Putin ... what an Idiot!

Ukraine didn't bomb Pearl Harbor, brah.

    Or Moscow, for that matter.

You are the first person I have ever heard make that claim. Mecca is almost a thousand miles from Jerusalem.

Could you be thinking of The Dome of the Rock?

The Second Temple was built on top of the First Temple. When the Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE, they also killed all the priests. That means that Jews can no longer enter the Temple Mount, because we might accidentally enter the inner sanctum. If you saw Raiders of the Lost Ark, you know how angry God gets when you enter the inner sanctum, or open the Ark... On a more serious side, it is a violation of the basic tenets of the religion.

So the Muslims built the Dome of the Rock in a place that Jews cannot go, and that is OK. If God choses to send a messiah to tell us where on the Temple Mount we can go, then he will also remove any impediments for us to go there. That is what he did when he sent messiahs to have us build the Second Temple.

Yeah, that's why the USA didn't bomb Tokyo, Berlin, Dresden, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki back into the Stone Age in WWII, because all those cities are now just uninhabited wastelands... oh, wait.

    Wars are waged to win.
